Curling dahlia petals in orange and green — **Swoop** by Sandy Haight. Frame size: 39″ x 31″

Ecstatica and Swoop were selected from 450 submissions to be part of this group show of 2D and 3D artists from Washington and Oregon.

These images might resemble fireworks for our nation’s birthday as they burst off the page? The holiday doesn’t keep Port Townsend from celebrating art on the 4th of July so the reception could be fun! (August 1 will be another non-holiday Art Walk reception but I can’t be at that one).

I love any excuse to go to Port Townsend for its friendly people, old downtown architecture on the water, great food and creative spirit. It’s now only an hour from my home on Bainbridge Island. From Seattle it’s a 2 hour adventure with a lovely summer ferry experience.

2. Seattle: “In The Garden” Group Show

Spark & Thread Gallery

**Hera’s Paintbrush** by Sandy Haight. Frame: 31”x39”.

Spark&Thread, my favorite boutique gallery on Capital Hill in Seattle, is having a special group garden show that fits my work perfectly. They’ve been selling archival prints and cards of my paintings for several years and I love a chance to visit and check out their shows when I deliver work to them. They show great jewelry, that I can’t resist, metal works (Spark!), fabric creations (Thread!), ceramics (including my son Adrien Miller’s functional sculptures) and decor. I’m showing these 3 original paintings this summer. Three different shapes and color schemes to fit your moods and wall spaces!
