NEW VENUE! Bloedel Reserve on Bainbridge Island
7571 NE Dolphin Drive
Bainbridge Island, WA
Closed Mondays.
Here I am with Out of the Blue in the Bloedel gift shop. When discovering that a big empty wall in the gift shop was to be for for displaying the work of “local artists” I invited the shop buyer to visit my studio, just down the road(!) to look for art that would be just right for Bloedel Reserve. She picked this, my biggest watercolor to show along with my cards and prints of plants that are native to the Reserve. It’s my favorite place to walk where I bring all my out of town friends to experience NW nature at its most glorious!

This watercolor of a coleus, seen outside the Conservatory in Seattle’s Volunteer Park, has resonated with me for years with its regal colors and delicate complexity like an oriental rug for the wall! It will look great among the variety of artwork juried in from the Women Painters of Washington, who keep providing me with opportunities to share my work. Kirkland Art Center has a beautiful gallery, just across Lake Washington from Seattle, and also across Puget Sound from us islanders!
Here’s the statement describing the theme and title of the show. I can’t wait to experience this abounding creativity!
“RESONANT HARMONY”
Women Painters of Washington presents Resonant Harmony, an exhibition that celebrates the interplay of artistic voices, emotions, and ideas. This exhibit embodies the power of resonance—the way art can stir memory, evoke emotion, and forge connections across time and space. Each piece stands as an individual expression, yet together, they create a visual symphony of color, form, and meaning.
Harmony emerges through the dynamic balance of styles, techniques, and perspectives, reflecting the shared yet diverse experiences of women artists. Whether through bold contrasts or subtle rhythms, these works speak to the tension and unity found in art and life. Resonant Harmony invites viewers to experience this dialogue – to see, feel, and engage with the vibrations of creativity that connect us all.
Thanks for reading and checking out my post! This was a long one! There’s lots going on this summer and, thankfully, long days to take it all in! Enjoy!
