Title: Ripening
The grapes vines draping the trellis over my home's entry always seem to ripen at different rates within each clump. It's hard to wait for each whole bunch of grapes to be fully ripened before harvesting, so we pick them off as they redden and indulge their rich taste. The colors go from yellow-green to deep reddish purple making them a fun subject to paint as each shape has its own gradients of color creating a field of bubbling delight, glowing in the sunshine. Watercolor makes the artwork luminous!
This is a giclee print of the original watercolor painting. It has archival inks on archival watercolor paper and reproduces so closely that you can't tell that it's a print! This print is unframed and is presented mounted on a 11x14" foam core board with a Certificate of Limited Edition (1/100) and protected in a clear bag sleeve to away your perfect mat and frame.

For the past several years I've been painting in watercolor flowers and plant life up so close that they envelope the viewer in their sensuality and rich color. Enlarged, they become almost abstractions from nature without seeing the outer shape or the environment around them. I call these paintings Floralscapes. The original of this painting has been sold but my watercolors are professionally photographed and reproduce amazingly close to the quality of the original.
I was honored to be the gold medal winning poster artist for the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival in 2016 with my watercolor painting of a tulip bouquet.
In 2012 I qualified to be a signature member of the Northwest Watercolor Society (NWWS). This is earned by being juried into a select number of local chapter and international watercolor society shows sponsored by NWWS. The initials now follow my signature on recent watercolor paintings.
