Singing out from a golden core the white petals blush with warmth as their song is heard.
This watercolor titled Aria was juried into the CVG Show by Michael D’Alessandro in Bremerton, WA. It’s open through Feb 26. Works of all mediums from WA state can be seen either in person or on the cvgshow website. Aria is one of the 130 all-media accepted works! It’s so refreshing finally to go to a physical gallery and see the art in person after a year of online only art exhibitions. The gallery is open Wednesdays through Saturdays from 11-4pm. They are complying with Covid safe practices, limiting attendance and requiring masks.
The show reflects a wide range of feelings from the angst of living with health and political uncertainty, to the search for calm and beauty in these turbulent times. Aria was one of last year’s paintings of white flowers that I explored before getting caught up in the cultural unrest. It’s beauty of life unfurling and subtle color brings me joy.
Check out the show online here if Bremerton is not in reach for you. With online shows it’s hard to imagine the comparative size and scale of one work relative to another, but it’s still worth taking a look.
My Sole Proprietors Group
I’ve been part of a networking group of self employed artists for over 25 years. We were all illustrators and designers when we started meeting monthly, sharing issues on style development, contracts and marketing to navigate the design world and support each other’s work. (See my illustration website from that business). Now we have all transitioned into the fine art world without clients (or deadlines) to direct our creativity. This CVG show presents 4 of the 8 of us showing together! So, be sure to check out the paintings by my “Sole Prop” friends in this show: Mitch Albala, Obadinah Heavner, and Leslie Newman.

Puzzle Update
This was the most challenging puzzle I’ve ever done. Hours of trial and error but the thrill as I nailed each piece was undeniable! The last 1/3 finally became fun…. It was a good way to hibernate, though, listen to good books and ignore the dark winter. It’s nice to have this painting back in my life….I’ll glue it together! 1000 pieces!
Hi Sandy, I love Aria and would like to se the show in Bremerton. What is the address of the gallery? Sorry if it’s on their page but I have missed it. I will see if Don might fo with me before Feb 26. At first I thought it ended on Jan. 26 and was sad because I wouldn’t be able to get there.
You are simply amazing. By the way m, I like the model you got to look at your painting. Say hi to Gary
Love to both of you,
Jean
