I haven’t shown off the work of my students for awhile. I teach my painting process to students at Bellevue College in a class now called “From Photo to Watercolor Illustration”. It’s an 8 week class on Monday nights for 3.5 hours. We have a great time practicing watercolor techniques and applying them strategically to a painting of the student’s choice on a half sheet of good watercolor paper (about 20″ x 14″). Beginners are welcome, or join us to keep your painting practice going! My next class starts September 12. Register here by September 6. Enjoy these paintings from this past year. Aren’t they amazing?
Here are some paintings from the summer 2015 class. The last 4 are not quite finished but interesting to see the process in development. Such variety keeps me on my toes as I coach them!
I have lots of earlier posts of work from these classes on my illustration website blog. You can see most of those posts on this link which shows many student paintings as well as some teaching posts of my painting process. Scroll away, and consider signing up for one of my classes this fall or next spring! You’ll get set up and equipped to explore, plan and execute a watercolor painting of whatever subjects you choose!
