“Sunrise Rose” juried into the Bainbridge Island Art Museum (BIMA) Spotlight Show!
“BIMA Spotlight is the museum’s first-ever juried group exhibition. Six jurors reviewed approximately 3,400 artworks, submitted by 606 artists from the Puget Sound region. The result is a diverse salon-style show — the 150 selected artists fill the majority of BIMA’s gallery spaces.” I am so honored!
Open now through September 24!

I’ll be showing 2 paintings that include a touch of water at my first show with this women painters group that I joined this year offering more opportunities to get my paintings out there! They have a permanent gallery space in downtown Seattle. I’ll be gallery sitting there on Thursday July 27 and Monday July 31 so come on by for a visit and drink in the artwork!

“After the Shower”. Transparent watercolor by Sandy Haight. Frame size: 28.5″ x 22.5″
After the Shower is one of my earliest Floralscapes which hooked me on this macro perspective of flowers and the joy of painting the individual petal shapes then making it all work together in one blooming composition.

“Arboretum Star”. Transparent watercolor by Sandy Haight. Frame size: 28.5″ x 22.5″.
Arboretum Bloom is more representational in composition but gave me a chance to explore some texture techniques, more water drops and is a reminder of my former Seattle neighborhood next to the Arboretum.
2. “Fresh Perspectives” at Gallery Syre in Bellingham, WA.

You may recognize the 2 paintings that were accepted for this show as “Fresh Perspectives” from my last post about the April show in Anacortes, From Darkness Blooms. Not only are they fresh perspectives, but they are unusual shapes, being very wide horizontal formats.

“Dervish”. Transparent watercolor by Sandy Haight. Image size: 41″ x 15″. Frame size: 48″ x 22″

“Canopy”. Transparent watercolor by Sandy Haight. Image size: 41″ x 15″. Frame size: 48″ x 22″
